LadyBower … Sun 7th March 2010
A full sky of blue, never mind that it was bloody cold, we were out there.
So were quite a few of you, though not many of you seemed to be pulling in and stopping anywhere.
Potholes, masses of them and scary some of them. Certainly the UK’s modestly maintained roads don’t appear to have faired well through what for most of us was not that bad a winter. A bit of snow and frost for a few weeks that’s really all you can call it, though I suppose the more milder winters generally of the last 20years mean this winter will be re-called as a bad one.
Never mind all that, it was good to get out and get a taste of two wheels again on dry tarmac.
We climbed up over Holme Moss, where snow was still most evident, dropped down into Glossop, then over the Snake Pass and the Strines to get home.
We met a few of you whenever we stopped, sorry didn’t get everyone’s name but all our snaps and your mugs are in the gallery. We met Pitty and Moonwitch at the Snake Inn, enjoying a bowl of chips, checkout their forum site at ‘tankslap‘ and anyone after bike graphics checkout ‘Pitty’s Custom Vinyls‘.
We had a coffee with Julie and Vicky at the Ladybower Cafe and if you are on the Snake this year, then make sure you stop and say hello, a friendlier welcome you’ll struggle to find. Say ‘hello’ from us at FullChatter too!
Nice to know there are still a few jokers out there and the guys on the Kwacks and the ‘prillia (sorry guys didn’t get your names) were out having fun, though were accompanied by a few dodgy hairstyles!
Hope the rest of you enjoyed your day and managed to avoid frostbite!
